Best Alternative Video Of The 90’s

The 90’s was a great decade for music. We had all these Alternative Rock bands in the scene, we had Grunge…It was truly an amazing decade for Music…So I’ve been perusing through my teenage memories and trying to figure out what would constitute the Best Alternative Video of the 90’s.

After much consideration, it was a tie between Smashing Pumpkin’s “Today,” which till this day is still a rocking, animated, sexually enthused video that I adored back in my teenage “daze” and will forever treasure. The next video I was torn by was Blind Melon’s “No Rain.” It was such a sad, but endearing Video. I can’t think of anyone who disliked the Video or song…Not even the Metal Heads…

In conclusion I picked Blind Melon’s: “No Rain” for a number of reasons. One of those reasons is to celebrate the life of lead singer Shannon Hoon, who passed on in “1995″ only after 2 years after hitting it big because of “No Rain.”

All of Blind Melon’s music is absolutely kick ass. Shannon Hoon, was a remarkable Songwriter/Lyricist. The second reason I picked “No Rain” as the Best Alternative Video of the 90’s was because of the darling bee girl in the Video, who became an icon; Queen of the Underdogs…That little Bee Girl became a hero for many people, including myself.

So I leave you with “No Rain.” It’s a master piece that will lift your spirits from the gutter and will inspire a shred of hope even if it’s in a far away land…It certainly gives you the strength not to give up on yourself.
