The Future of E-Dating is Almost Here…

Mobile technology companies in Korea are developing a new way to hook people up on dates.  Imagine you’re taking the train home after work, and you get a message on your cell asking if you’d like to meet up with a potential date from a common web-based, dating site.  Sounds awesome right…well, not yet…but soon enough.

The technology uses what is know as LBS or location based service to make the match possible.  Basically, it would find potential daters within the local area via GPS sensors in each persons’ phone and send an alert to each asking if they were interested in hooking up for a date.

Once the technology is fully developed, the idea would be to integrate all online dating services that currently exist into the system so that LBS mobile dating would be a breeze.  The thing that excites people the most about the technology is the potential for more exciting and spontaneous encounters, which works out perfectly for most singles out there using online dating for a quick way to meet people.
